Apple Sunday / Jablíčková neděle

Sunday. Maybe the last sunny one.  And so we went to pick some apples.

Not so long ago I came across a page “Na Ovoce“. It acts as a community platform that wants to make people responsible for use of nature's bounty in the form of wild fruit trees, berry bushes or herbs. It is their goal not only to map such places, but also to contribute to their sustainability, to establish new ones, present  the values that plants represent for people, strive to contribute to the growth of biodiversity that has been withering in our modern times and to uphold the positives of the cultural landscape in which we live.

According to their map, there are several abandoned fruit orchards in Prague and one of them is the apple orchard “Na Klíčově” that is generally round the corner from the place I live and I never even knew it existed. And that was the place, where the fruit celebration took place over the weekend. Every person could pick the apples and pears, learn something about growing the fruit trees or how to take good care of such orchard and t try super fresh and delicious apple cider that was being made on the spot from those local apples. 

Neděle. Možná poslední slunečná. Vypravili jsme se na jablíčka.

Před nedávnem jsem narazila na stránky sdružení „Na ovoce“, které  slouží jako komunitní platforma lidem, kteří chtějí zodpovědně využívat přírodní bohatství v podobě volně rostoucích ovocných stromů, keřů či bylinek. Snahou je společně takováto místa nejen mapovat, ale také přispívat k jejich udržitelnosti, zakládat nová, dbát o hodnoty, které rostliny pro člověka představují, přispívat k nárůstu chřadnoucí biodiverzity a udržovat pozitiva kulturní krajiny, ve které člověk žije.

Podle mapy se přímo v Praze nachází několik opuštěných ovocných sadů a jedním z nich je i sad Na Klíčově, který mám v podstatě za rohem a o němž jsem donedávna netušila, že vůbec existuje. A právě tam probíhala celý víkend ovocná slavnost. Každý si mohl volně nasbírat jablíčka nebo hrušky, zjistit informace o pěstování ovocných stromů a ochutnat super čerstvý a výborný jablečný mošt lisovaný přímo na místě z místních jablíček.

That cider was so delicious. Even the doggie loved it :)

Čerstvý mošt byl opravdu výborný. I pejskovi moc chutnal :)

I must say the basket was really photogenic and looked so pretty, but for carrying around it was not practical at all :)

Košík byl hrozně pěkný a fotogenický, ale na nošení jablíček teda nic moc praktický :)

And I had the first sausage of the season (and probably the last one too) :)
